The Eco Warrior team at Our lady Queen of Peace celebrates its first year in September 2010. Our school is blessed by being set in some of the most beautiful surroundings in Lancashire. We have fantastic playing fields and within our playgrounds we have a lovely memorial garden dedicated to the memory of learners and teachers who have sadly passed away.
Initially the idea was to keep the memorial garden tidy and Mr. Hughes along with two learners would keep the pond and garden free of litter. Like many good things it has grown as other young learners wanted to help and so the Eco Warrior team began with John Ratcliffe (then in Year 8) as its first team leader.
The team is dedicated to helping our school site supervisors keep the whole school environment clean and tidy. Team members have spoken in Assemblies so as to share their commitment to maintaining this wonderful environment.
